Why A Wok?
I always adored the look of a wok but never really thought I needed one. I reasoned that anything that I would use a wok to cook, I could cook in a skillet. But then I got one, I couldn’t resist any longer once I started seeing the colorful choices, and now there’s no going back. I’ve already purchased a replacement because I wore the first one out so quickly. There are two kinds of woks, the traditional style has a round bottom and there is also a flat bottom style. I would only recommend the round bottom if you have a gas stove or plan to cook over a fire, for the obvious reason of balancing problems. However the flat bottom wok doesn’t .... |

Dutch Oven...?
What is the right size Dutch oven for my family dinners?", is the question I found before me as I went out in search of a new Dutch oven. If I purchased one larger than I needed I would be spending more money than necessary and large pans create more work. On the other hand getting a Dutch oven that wasn’t large enough would mean cramming the food in it and not getting the desired braise or roasting qualities from the pot. |
